Did you know that having straight teeth does more than give you a great smile? Straight teeth are also good for your oral health. When your teeth are straight, you are less susceptible to decay and gum disease, better able to sufficiently clean them with brushing and flossing, and less likely to develop issues such as jaw pain or uneven wear on your teeth. With Invisalign® clear aligner treatment at the dental practice of Dr. W. Paul Burns, DDS, patients in the El Dorado, AR and neighboring Union County, Magnolia, Camden areas can straighten their teeth quickly and effectively – and even better yet, without anyone knowing!
Invisalign treatment has truly revolutionized the way that people are able to straighten their teeth. While metal braces were the mainstay in orthodontics for many decades and are very effective at correcting misalignment issues, Invisalign now provides a more discreet and comfortable option for many patients.
Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, invisible teeth aligners to gradually shift your teeth into the optimal position for a beautiful, straight smile and healthy bite. In an initial consultation, Dr. Burns will talk with you about your treatment goals and evaluate your teeth and gum health to help you determine whether Invisalign is a good choice to meet your needs. Using advanced computer technology, he will use impressions and images of your teeth to plan out your treatment, enabling you to see your end results before you even begin. Then, the Invisalign laboratory will create your series of customized aligners based on his specifications. When they are ready, you will come in to the office and we will give them to you, along with instructions on how often to wear them and how to take care of them. For most patients, wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day and switching them out for the next set in the series every two weeks produces the best results. Throughout your treatment, you will come in for periodic check-ups so we can check on your progress, and when your treatment is complete, we will provide you with a retainer that you wear while you sleep to help maintain your terrific results.
